DOVER — A Marydel man was indicted on eight drug- and weapon-related charges by a Kent County grand jury on Monday.

Gavin M. Valdesere, 35, of the 3000 block of Mahan Corner Road, originally was arrested on Jan. 13 after an arrest warrant execution that brought the alleged discovery of various illegal drugs and rounds of ammunition, the Delaware State Police said.
Mr. Valdesere was taken into custody without incident by the U.S. Marshals Service, Delaware State Police and Probation and Parole officers. He had a violation of probation capias out of Kent County at the time, police said, and a warrant out of Caroline County, Maryland, for traffic and firearm-related alleged offenses.
Indicted charges included aggravated possession of heroin, three counts of possession of firearm/ammunition by person prohibited, possession of a deadly weapon (crossbow) by person prohibited, drug dealing, endangering the welfare of a child and illegal possession of a controlled substance.
Deputy Attorney General Zach George signed the indictment for the state.
