Second Dover shooting suspect in custody

DOVER – A 21-year-old Philadelphia man was taken into custody as the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continued to investigate a Dover area home invasion where three people were shot and two killed, authorities said Friday.

Saleem Shabazz was apprehended without incident in Pennsylvania at approximately 5 p.m. He is awaiting extradition back to Delaware and is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1 million cash bail.

Police said they reported to a home invasion call with two suspects on Oct. 17 at approximately 1:38 a.m. in the 1400 block of John Clark Road in the Rodney Village community.

The Delaware State Police working with the First State Fugitive Task Force, the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force, and the Norristown Police Department located Mr. Shabazz at the unit block of East Jacoby Street in Norristown.

State police asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Det. D. Grassi at 365-8441. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, or by sending anonymous tips by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword DSP online at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.

On Sunday, Matthew Harrington, 23, of Pennsylvania, turned himself in to the Buckingham Township Police Department as a suspect.

Earlier, police said pending charges included first-degree murder, attempted robbery and first-degree burglary (two counts each), first-degree assault possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (six counts), first- and second-degree conspiracy.
