DOVER — Delaware cell phones users should be able to make 911 calls without problems again.

About 1 p.m. Wednesday, Kimberly H. Chandler, a spokeswoman for the Delaware Dept. of Safety and Homeland Security, reported that “cell providers advised our State 9-1-1 office that the outage issue impacting cellular calls this morning was resolved and cellular service has been stored in our area. ”

Thursday morning, Delaware officials said cellular callers had not been able to reach 911 Wednesday following storms in the region.

Ms. Chandler said due to an issue in the Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland area, cellular users were unable to call 911 and advised that the public would need to use land lines in the event of an emergency.

The issue also affected cellular to land line calls and land line to cellular calls, Ms. Chandler said.
