DOVER – As the music has just died down from last weekend’s Firefly Music Festival comes word of the dates for next year’s fifth annual event.
According to a note posted on the festival’s website, the dates for next year will be June 16-19. Additionally, the website states that the pre-sale date to begin buying general admission four-day passes for next year’s event will start July 15 at 11 a.m. The cost will be $249.
Last year, pre-sale tickets to the 2015 festival cost $199.
NASCAR hasn’t announced the date for the Dover spring race yet so it’s unknown how long festival officials will have to change over the speedway grounds for Firefly.
This year’s event sold out with 90,000 tickets bought for the four-day festival, which featured Paul McCartney, Snoop Dogg and The Killers. Saturday night’s headlining show with Kings of Leon was rained out.
Red Frog Events, producers of Firefly, now will turn their attention to this weekend’s Big Barrel Country Music Festival, where about 35,000 people are expected to converge on the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway. The festival, which runs Friday through Sunday, will have headliners Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood.
