DOVER — A final case review for a 26-year-old Dover man charged with allegedly conspiring to provide false testimony in a 2014 murder trial against him is scheduled for Wednesday.
The jury trial of Gerard T. “Gerry” Schweiger is set for Sept. 21 in Kent County Superior Court. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

On June 1, Mr. Schweiger was indicted on two counts of first-degree perjury and a second-degree conspiracy count after Delaware State Police investigation into testimony given in the August 2014 case involving the death of 45-year-old Leipsic resident Tony Mozick Sr. in January 2013.
Mr. Schweiger was later found not guilty of murder, but guilty of but convicted of abusing a corpse, breach of release, tampering with physical evidence, hindering prosecution and second-degree conspiracy.
On July 30, a Harrington man pleaded guilty to first-degree perjury and second-degree conspiracy in connection with the case. Phillip M. Wright was 26 at the time of his April 1 arrest.
Authorities alleged that Mr. Schweiger promised Wright food from the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center commissary in exchange for false testimony in an attempt to provide an alibi during the murder trial. At the trial,
Mr. Wright testified that he had never met Schweiger before a Dover bus stop encounter, which state police said was found to be false.
Mr. Schweiger was arrested after police monitored a Sept. 2014 telephone conversation between him and an unidentified person. Authorities alleged that he admitted to murdering Mr. Mozick, committing perjury and bribery during the phone call.
