EASLEY, S.C. – Dover’s Jared Rowley pitched a four-hit shutout as District I blanked Texas, 5-0, in the Big League baseball World Series on Wednesday afternoon.

The Kent County all-stars are now 2-0 in the nine-team, double-elimination tournament in Little League’s 16-18-year-old division.

District I doesn’t play again until Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when it faces either Florida or California in the winners’ bracket.

East champion Kent County took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning on Wednesday. Centerfielder Dakota Graham had two hits, three RBI and a run scored for District I.

Texas, the Southwest champs, committed four errors in the game as all five District I runs were unearned.
