HARRINGTON — First responders rescued an unconscious 45-year-old man on the rooftop at Midway Slots on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
According to Earl Brode, Harrington Fire Company’s first assistant chief, the man was working on an HVAC unit at the time of a medical emergency. He was transported to a local hospital, authorities said. No further information on his condition was available.
The fire company was dispatched to Midway Slots at 18500 S. DuPont Highway at approximately 3:15 p.m. and stayed on scene for approximately 45 minutes, First Assistant Chief Brode said.
Midway Slots employees called to alert first responders of the emergency, authorities said.
Kent County paramedics reached the man via scissor lift and began administering treatment before the victim and medical personnel were lowered to the ground in a ladder truck.
First Assistant Chief Brode said the Harrington responded to a “similar incident” on the WSFS bank rooftop in 2015.
