DOVER — DelDOT announced that motorists can expect lane closures and potential back-ups for the following planned special events in September:
Amish Country Bike Tour in Dover — Saturday beginning at 7 a.m.
There will be several hundred cyclists leaving Legislative Mall in Dover and riding various roadways in Kent County with a return trip to Legislative Mall.

Bottle & Cork 10 Miler and 5K at Dewey Beach — Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
Runners will leave Dewey Beach heading to Rehoboth, Henlopen Acres, the boardwalk, and returning to Dewey Beach for the 10 mile race. There will be a temporary right lane closure on Del. 1 northbound from McKinley Street to Del. 1A in Dewey for the race.

Bike MS: Bike to the Bay 2016 — Saturday and Sunday
Cyclists will begin the ride at 8 a.m. on Saturday from Delaware Technical Community College at Scarborough Road in Dover to the South Inlet Day Use Area on the south side of the Charles W. Cullen Bridge.
At 8 a.m. on Sunday, cyclists will leave the South Inlet Day Use Area and return to Scarborough Road in Dover.
No lane closures will occur on Saturday and Sunday. However, motorists should expect minimum delays with cyclists on Del. 1 northbound shoulders from Old Landing Road to the inlet. The right turn lane from Del. 1 southbound to the south campground will be closed for the duration of Saturday’s event.
Southbound vehicles wishing to gain access to the campground, as well as spectators trying to access the South Inlet Day-Use Area, will need to make a U-turn at 3 R’s and head northbound on Del. 1 to the eastern entrance.

38th annual Nanticoke Indian PowWow — Saturday and Sunday
The event will be take place from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The grounds are located off of Del. 24/ John J. Williams Highway near Mount Joy Road/Oak Orchard Road. Fire police will assist with traffic control at Mount Joy Road and Piaffe Lane.

Historic Georgetown Art Crawl/Farmer & Foodie Festival — Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Road closures will begin from 8 a.m. for the vendors to set up for the festival at The Circle in Georgetown.
The festival will be broken down after 2 p.m. with road closures until 3 p.m.

Pedal Away Prostate Cancer Bike Race and Delaware Senior Olympics Road Race – Saturday, Sept. 17 beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Cyclists will leave from Eden Hill Medical Center in Dover.
There will be lane restrictions and intermittent closures along the route which includes: Saulsbury Road from North Street to West Denneys Road; Del. 8 from Chestnut Grove Road to Tuxward Road; Westville Road between Hazlettville Road and Allabands Mill Road. North Street from Mifflin Road to Banning Street (Eden Hill Medical Center).

Dewey Beach Sprint Triathlon — Saturday, Sept. 17 from 7:30 a.m. until noon
There will be a lane shift north of Fred Hudson Road on Del. 1 northbound, a right lane closure on Del. 1 northbound from north of Fred Hudson Road through Dewey Beach, and a left lane closure southbound from Pelicans Pouch to Fred Hudson Road. Motorists should expect traffic delays for this event from Dewey Beach to Fred Hudson Road.
Trailblazers and message signs will be placed to assist motorists.

Bethany Beach Triathlon & Duathlon — Sunday, Sept. 18 from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Multiple single lane closures will be in place on Del. 1 northbound and southbound starting at 6 a.m. between Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach. Lane restrictions should be lifted by 11 a.m.
In addition, there will be various shoulder closures along Del. 1 northbound and the right-turn lane from Del. 1 northbound to Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed for the duration of the event.
Cyclists will leave Garfield Parkway at Bethany Beach starting at 7:45 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18 and continue on the shoulders of Del. 1 northbound over the Charles W. Cullen Bridge turning around at New Road near Dewey Beach.
Cyclists will continue southbound on Del. 1 over the Charles W. Cullen Bridge returning to Bethany Beach via Pennsylvania Avenue.

Delaware Mud Run — Sunday, Sept. 18
At 7 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, motorists can expect lane closures and delays on U.S. 13 northbound and southbound at Frightland, 309 Port Penn Road near Middletown. The event is anticipated to be completed by 5 p.m.

Special Olympics Truck Convoy — Saturday, Sept. 24
The truck convoy will depart the Delaware State Fairgrounds at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. The convoy will be escorted by law enforcement officers on a 28-mile route through scenic Southern Delaware.
The truck convoy will exit the Delaware State Fairgrounds and make a right onto the truck route through downtown Harrington, turn east onto SR 14/Milford-Harrington Highway to Milford, turn southbound onto U.S. 113, turn right on Old Shawnee Road to Del. 36, turn right on Del. 36 westbound to Del. 16 at Greenwood, turn right on U.S. 13 north and return to the Delaware State Fairgrounds.

Magnolia Town Heritage Day — Saturday, Sept. 24
The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24 with a 5K race at 9 a.m. During the race, motorists will encounter delays on Clapham Road northbound and southbound. Sophers Row will be open to local traffic only.
Irish Hill Road eastbound will be detoured using Andersen Road to Woodlytown Road and return to South State Street/Clapham Road.
The road closures for the parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. South Street northbound and southbound will be closed between Woodlytown Road and Sophers Row.
Irish Hill Road eastbound will also be closed at Sophers Row. Barkers Landing Road westbound will be closed at Ponderosa Drive.
The parade begins from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Detour trailblazers and message boards will be placed to assist traffic around the closures.
