DOVER — The Dover Police Department in collaboration with Communities in Schools of Delaware, will hold its Spring Jam event Friday.
The event, open to the public, will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lookerman Way Plaza.
Dover Police said it will have officers on hand to engage with the community in a fun-filled environment.
Activities available include 3-on-3 basketball, music, bounce house, face painting and a mobile gaming truck. Simaron Pizza & Steak Shop will supply food for the event while supplies last.
The event also will mark the launch of the Dover Police Department’s Police Athletic League.
Officer Keith Hester will provide information and answer questions about the P.A.L. Program set to launch later this spring.
Additional community partners will be on hand to provide information about their programs and offer services, including:
• NCALL, a nonprofit organization based in Dover that specializes in affordable housing development, education and lending.
• Kent County Parks and Recreation
• Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware
• Food Bank of Delaware
• Downtown Dover Partnership
• Delaware Technical Community College
• Dover Fire Department
Other organizations also will participate.
