DOVER — A final case review is scheduled today for a 22-year-old Dover man charged with first-degree attempted murder after he allegedly shot his mother and her boyfriend during an October 2015 altercation.
Emery O. Cannon was arrested Oct. 1 after Delaware State Police troopers were dispatched to the unit block of Washington Place in the Capital Park development for a shots fired report.

Mr. Cannon was not at the scene when police arrived and the wounded 41-year-old woman and 31-year-old man already had left for Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in a private vehicle, police said.
Within two hours of the alleged incident, police said, Mr. Cannon was taken into custody in the Wawa parking lot at 1450 Forrest Ave., in Dover.
Mr. Cannon was indicted on Jan. 4 and has been held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna.
Other charges include first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by person prohibited and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
Deputy Attorney General Marie Graham is prosecuting for the state, and lawyer Adam Windett is representing Mr. Cannon.
A trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday in Kent County Superior Court.
Other final case reviews today in Superior Court at the Kent County Courthouse include:
• Greg Ligon, 28, of Mitchellville, Maryland, is facing seven vehicular assault counts — one first degree, six second degree — in connection with a motor vehicle crash at Delaware State University on Oct. 24, 2015, during homecoming weekend.

According to Dover Police Department at the time, Mr. Ligon, a former DSU football player, allegedly lost control of his vehicle in a fraternity picnic area. Seven people were injured, police said.
A DUI of alcohol charge also resulted, along with no proof of insurance and possession of registration card counts. Mr. Ligon was indicted on Jan. 4.
Deputy Attorney General Greg Babowal is representing the state, with attorney Joseph Hurley defending Mr. Ligon.
• Two brothers — Alex and Johnson Joseph of Dover — are co-defendants in a case involving a 20-year-old man who allegedly was shot twice within two hours on Sept. 4, 2015. Arrests were made without incident the next day at a unit block residence on Freedom Drive, police said. An indictment was obtained on Nov. 2, 2015.

The alleged incidents occurred at The Hamlet and Whatcoat Apartment developments, Dover Police Department said. A man was shot in the chest at 11:12 p.m., which followed a graze wound to the leg earlier in the night, according to authorities.
Charges include two counts each of first-degree attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and first-degree conspiracy.
The trial is scheduled for Monday. Johnson Joseph earlier had a trial scheduled for Jan. 4 and both were scheduled for trial on Feb. 1.

Deputy Attorney General Babowal is prosecuting for the state; attorney Andre Beauregard is representing Alex Joseph and Kathleen Amalfitano is representing Johnson Joseph.
The defendants initially were held by the Delaware Department of Correction.
• A 20-year-old Milford man is facing three first-degree robbery counts and other alleged offenses after investigation into incidents on April 21 and May 21, 2015, according to the Milford Police Department.
Quentrae D. Carroll, also was charged with two counts each of second-degree conspiracy and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and single counts of first- and third-degree assault, and third-degree conspiracy.
Mr. Carroll was arrested on July 21, 2015, and indicted on Oct. 5, 2015. A trial previously was scheduled for Jan. 4.

According to Milford Police, a 52-year-old man was taken to Bayhealth-Milford Memorial due to a fractured skull, brain bleed and other serious injuries suffered during an alleged incident.
A 17-year-old male and another male suspect also allegedly were involved in the cases, police said.
Mr. Carroll is being held by the Delaware Department of Correction.
