Five Henlopen Conference Northern Division teams made the six-team field for the Division I wrestling state dual meet tournament to be held Tuesday at Smyrna High.
Smyrna High coach Kurt Howell and the Eagles earned the top seed in Division I.
Smyrna (11-0 in Delaware), the three-time Division I champions, was awarded the top seed. In Division II, Milford High is the No. 1 seed, the Buccaneers are also defending champions and are the only team from the Henlopen South in the tournament.
Sussex Central (11-1) earned the other bye in Division I as the second seed. Caesar Rodney (8-3) is third, Cape Henlopen (9-3) fourth, Polytech (8-4) fifth and Wilmington Charter (8-2) sixth. Charter, the only non-Henlopen team in the Division I tournament, got in via the automatic bid for winning the Blue Hen Conference Flight A.
CR will face Charter in the first round and Cape Henlopen meets Polytech. The Vikings defeated Polytech 38-23 in the regular season on Jan. 13. Polytech had to win is final seven dual meets of the season to put the Panthers in tournament contention.
The first round will start at 3:30 pm. The draw for weight classes took place on Sunday — the first round will begin at 220 pounds, 285 pounds for the semifinals and 106 for the championship round.
Teams are reseeded after the first round.
Joining Milford (8-2) as the other team who earned a bye in Division II is St. Georges (8-3), the Blue Hen Conference Flight B champion.
Sanford (4-4) is seeded third and will face sixth seed Hodson (10-3) in the first round. Delaware Military Academy (7-2) is fourth and meets fifth seed Caravel (9-2).
Tickets are available at www.diaa.ticketleap.com and at the door for $8 and are good for all rounds. If anyone leaves the venue, they will need to purchase a new ticket to re-enter.
